Promotion of VET student entrepreneurial mindset through learning by doing
No. NPJR-2019/10021

The aim of the project with a name “Promotion of VET student entrepreneurial mindset through learning by doing” is to promote and improve entrepreneurial skills of VET (vocational education and training) students at three vocational schools in Latvia, Finland, and Iceland. We focus on sustainable entrepreneurship, which is ecological, ethical and aesthetic. Our project is mainly concentrated on the social entrepreneurship, which nowadays is getting more and more actual and important. Entrepreneurship is also one of the main focus points in a strategy “Europe 2020”. European Commission invites to focus school curricula on creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Because of a big number of youth unemployment in European Union it is very important to promote entrepreneurial skills of the students.

The project has the following objectives:

  • To promote and improve entrepreneurial skills of VET students;
  • To develop a training material that is based on actual tendencies in entrepreneurship, practical tasks and learning by doing;
  • To share experience and summarize good practice examples on the topics “Sustainable business ideas”, “Marketing and social entrepreneurship”, “Visuality and self-development” and “Profitability”;
  • To concentrate project activities on sustainable and social entrepreneurship, which is ecological, ethical and aesthetic;
  • To strengthen co-operation with the labour market.

The expected outcomes of the project are as follow: summary in a form of presentation of workshops results, summary of good practice examples and experience exchange, training material for the students and project website.
